Calling all new and aspiring authors. Baltimore County Public Library is participating in the second annual Indie Author Day. Hear from successful self-published authors, explore ways to market your work and more. Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to connect with the community. 10 a.m. Meet and Greet Grab a coffee and chat with your fellow authors. 10:30 a.m. Promoting Your Own Book Cherrie Woods, PR consultant and author of Where Do I Start?: 10 PR Questions and Answers to Guide Self-Published Authors, shares public relations tips on how to make your book stand out from the crowd. 11:30 a.m. Networking Breakout Sessions Mingle with fellow authors of many genres to talk about the writing process, meet your next beta reader and learn from your writing community. Facilitated by various authors. 1 p.m. Break 2 p.m. Speakers Sell Books Award-winning author and public speaker Michele Chynoweth teaches you the basics of overcoming your fears, vocal variety, writing a good speech and engaging your audience so that you'll have them hanging on to every word and then lining up to buy your books afterward. 3 p.m. Meet the Author: Dr. Tim Tooten As WBAL-TV's education reporter, Dr. Tim Tooten covers school-related issues. As pastor and founder of Harvest Christian Ministries in Baltimore, he believes faith is an integral part of child-rearing. Dr. Tooten talks about both in his new book Leading by Example: A Parental Guide to Teaching and Modeling Christian Faith at Home. Dr. Tooten discusses his book and his experience writing and self-publishing. Book sales and signings available after the event.
